The MSU Graduate Employee Organization (GEO) mission is to ensure that all graduate employees are sufficiently supported in order to maximize their contribution towards the goals of the university. The GEO will work to improve the quality of the graduate employee program by building a strong community of graduate employees and creating an open dialogue with the administration to facilitate solutions to workplace issues.
Speaking out with a collective voice can achieve better conditions for graduate employees across campus. The GEO is committed to addressing issues across departments for all graduate employees to improve the overall working environment at MSU. This will make our university more attractive to future graduate cohorts and improve the university’s academic standing.
The GEO believes that having the right to bargain with the university administration in good faith, toward mutually agreeable improvements is the clearest path to enacting employment policies and benefits for all graduate employees.
Graduate employees from across departments are invited to participate in the formation and operation of the Graduate Employee Organization. We are committed to identifying and acting upon common ground issues which will affect the quality of the graduate experience at MSU.
